Shopping for an exhaust any suggestions?

So I just installed my Eibachs and WOW, what a difference in height (pix will be up soon.) I know for a fact that im going with HRE's, I have my heart set on those for sure. So now its time to shop for an exhaust.

Im clearly going for a more toned pitched rather then it sounding like a tin can was attached.

With my previous 96 Nissan, I installed a Greddy Trust
(Japanese Manufacturer) exhaust and loved the toned sound that it produced. Thats what I hope to accomplish with my ///M3.

Any suggestions from you all and also links?

Thanks in advance.

I had a Greddy/TRUST Ti-R titanium exhaust on my previous car which was an Evo. I combined it with a DC Sports catless down-pipe and it sounded very good.

btw, checking out the link that 808E90 posted above will give the best start on the research.

I definitely think AA is what you're looking for. I had a Trust(Greddy) Ti on my evo before and that exhaust is LOUD

Well there are a ton of options out there, like what 59 exhausts out there for the M3 and everyone pushing one product or anther. Luckily there are plenty of reviews here on the forum and videos.

Is drone important? Some of the more popular ones that I know of

I think there are some consensus out there - value Remus is top notch - you have race and sport (no drone)

Eisenmann is pricey but a very nice exhaust that is also well loved with a sports and race available.

AA exhaust - no drone, loud, high performance - seriously think its an amazing exhaust

Akrapovich seems to be gaining popularity as well - but they are very costly.

Again there are a lot of options out there. What is your price range? What do you want out of the exhaust (what do you look for, tips style, name brand etc)?

^ Nice points that you brought up Ron. You just gotta keep asking yourself what you're looking for in a exhaust.

Another option would be to go with something like a Gintani mid/x with HFCs and keep the stock axleback. As you're in SoCal Gintani is right there. You can go with resonators or not (I'd say include them). There are a couple of guys running this type setup--one, whose userid escapes me--has a vert. This "design" would potentially yield the sound you want with a big performance bump, and with the stock axleback there should be no drone.

I will shortly have something similar to the other suggestions folks have already provided (axleback). I'm hoping to get my Gintani axleback installed next week--which would be similar in design to the other suggestions you've gotten so far. (The full Gintani exhaust would be just too loud for a vert IMO.)

It it's just sound you're after then an axleback is probably a good route. Lots of options out there for axlebacks.

I just wanted to point out other options as well. You need to figure out what your goals are for the exhaust as Ron already stated.

I think you'll also find that none of the options are not particularly cheap--so remember to check out the "for sale" section as well...exhausts have a high turnover rate it seems!

Happy hunting!

You can't go wrong with the Eisenmann Race. It looks great, sounds even better and just with the exhaust alone draws a lot of attention.
