Noise changes past 70k miles?

I have a little over 72,000 miles on my M3 and lately I've started to notice that it sounds a little different at past 4k rpms. It went from a deep sound to a higher pitch sound almost italian like. Is this something I should worry about? Is my engine going to blow up? *knocks on wood* Car drives just fine, no other weird noises. Almost as if I just changed the muffler.

Also I have the OEM perf pipes mod. No engine mods and stock airbox, cats, and resonators.

Bring it to a trusted BMW shop to see if they think there's something wrong.

Prob means your engine will blow up

Tough to say based on your input, but likely just the exhaust being more broken in.

My car does change its engine note around 4k at full throttle when its cold weather.
