Insurance Query
Hi - I'm starting to modify my E93 M3 - exhaust, remap. suspension, wheels, trim, brakes, mostly with none OEM equipment how do I stand with my car insurance. Do I disclose all my mods or just those that affect performance,
do some of you not disclose anything (you do not need to answer that last bit!). What is your experience, does the premium go up a lot, or will I have to change insurers? Thanks in advance. |

You need to disclose the modifications you make to your car, the requirement to do that will be in the fine print of your policy. Failure to disclose gives the insurance company the option to decline to cover you in case of a claim.

Two of my friends had heavily modified cars and were involved in collisions where they were the innocent party. When their cars were assessed nothing was mentioned as to the extensive un-declared mods.
I'm not advocating that you do not tell your insurance company mind, just a bot of fyi |
