Forward to 3m54s.

TBH his lines were awful and I think a good driver in that 335 and you would have had your hands full! ultimately he would have beaten you because you would have had to refuel while he carried on.
But if the M3 had an equally good driver, the M3 would have lapped the 335D a few times and have just enough time for a quick fuel stop .

id like to see that. in a timed lap done by BMW Car mag a 335d was about 1 sec a lap slower than an M3 saloon so to do that that have to be driving for several days.

Yeah I've had it for about a year now and I love it.
Had itchy feet for a while there and went to test drive an Audi RS4 !!!
Nice but not a patch on the M3,back to back the M is far superior.
Will be holding on to mine for a while now.

Well done on getting the M.
Once you go for a proper test drive you know what it's all about.

My 335i DCT +JB4 beat everything it ever raced up at the pod 335d's, 335i's, E9x M3's, M5's etc. (best 12.8s - average sub 13's). I had never driven an M3, but I wanted to beat every M3 I saw.

I overtook them on the straight at Silverstone (until we got to the bends) - my 335i was fantastic. 0-60 was about 4.2s. I used to think the M3 was a waste of money. Then I was offered a few laps passenger ride around Silverstone. From that day forward, I wanted one and looked at the ads every week for 18 months.

I have had one for a week and all I can say, I know it's a bit of a cliche, but it 'fills the senses', from when you open the garage door and it's sitting there waiting for you, firing it up is a pleasure, It is so involving to drive. You can lay down every hp, unlike my 335i, fantastic car as it was, it couldn't lay the power down on country lanes - it just got scary, straights yes.

Anybody who doubts what they're all about. Just pose as a potential buyer, take your 335 in and they will be all over you. Say you want a 'proper' drive or the deals off. Do it then ignore their phone calls. You'll be like me after. I want one!

I think you are probably right that's the very reason I wont have a test drive!
