Have a rader detector? Hate the suction cups?

Blendmount has finally released mounts for the BMW mirror.

Installed it today, going to go with the V1 DIY. Also going to mount by Blackvue camera underneath my STI.

Highly recommend it!

You could just tap into power up in the roof console, bring it down through the tube for the mirror base and drill a small hole to bring it back out for the mirror mounted detector. Watch the Valentine DIY install at M3Forum.net for details. It is the green/white wire in the second wire block (next to the very small block) that you tap use. Test with a test light with ignition on and off. The red/white wire next to it is always on so you don't want to use that.

I have an escort 9500 ix and I had it wired so the little module is in my ashtray. You can't even tell its there. If this was available when I installed mine this would have been a simpler option.

I like the idea but then it hangs too low for me... and is too visible... I like how my 9500ix is tucked in almost hidden from view so I don't have to worry about hiding it everytime I get out of the car.

Starting at $1599 my money is better spent on other things. And the amount of work to do it the $140 dollar Blendmount makes sense. I guess you have a lot of expendable time and money.

Yes, that is the model I ordered. Completed the install as per http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=409010 and piggy backed the power for my dash cam.

Huh? $1599?

It's $799 depending on which mirror you have which includes a fully refundable core charge of $400 so it really only costs $399. You only glanced at the page. $1599 is a complete system with the radar detector and all sorts of other parts.

Sure I glanced, but lets take into account the amount of work to do the work to change over of mirrors. And yes, you still need a radar detector so why isn't it something to consider?

Wow, I thought this wouldn't get shit on. But I guess I was wrong. Thanks TECH. I'm still happy with the $140 dollars I spent.

There is very little work to change the mirror. The detector is not something in question since you will need it regardless of what route you take in the endeavor.

I'm indeed happy that you like your outcome. I was providing another option that I enjoy.

That's all that counts, that you are happy.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review.

I was gonna tough it out with the suctions cups, but the new ones I bought keep falling off. I just ordered the blend mount for the V1.

Side note, use coupon code FRIEND for 12.5% off.

I like my mega suction cup mount. Less than $30.00 on ebay and rately faslls off. Way better that the original.

Blendmount will not work on my car with the rain sensor on the mirror.

I don't see it on the Blendmount site?

Isn't there another method I saw somewhere that allows you to mount the main V1 unit in the rear near the headrest? Keeps it out of sight....

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously, but there is another alternative from country joy crafts...

http://www.countryjoycrafts.com/escortmount.html

It's a little lighter on the wallet at only $60...

Oh snap this looks perfect? You already using one from this place? How is it working; auto dimming, quality, fit and finish etc?

EDIT: Never mind, I just saw it cost $2400....
