m3 vs 14' m6 MANUAL-PICS!
Gents,
got the new car bug and went a direction I didn't think I would go. 2014' M6 grey/orange. MANUAL transmission, only one in the country. I know the DCT shifts better but the involvement for me isn't the same. I briefly drove a DCT M6 but as it's new and no miles, no pushing the car to get a feel for the power vs. weight. I think the manual tranny will turn this thing into a tire burner with a muscle car personality. I can't wait! Hopefully here by Friday from Miami to Houston. Is that doable timeframe? Any thoughts on what this car will drive like? TY! |

That's such a killer combo. Grey + orange + 6MT = amazing. I love the idea of it being a German muscle car. Congrats!

Nice car. That interior is just so sweet! As for how the car will drive as compared to an M3, in a straight line the M6 will easily spank the M3. The torque and sheer power of that car makes it a blast to drive down a highway and overtake everyone else. Of course there is no getting away from the fact that it weighs about the same as a small planet. So don't expect any kind of dynamic handling or corner carving, M badge not withstanding. And don't expect not to understeer into the Armco if you end up taking it to the track.
Why don't you check out an M5 instead? The M6 is mechanically identical to the M5 and has the same interior too. It also has the same performance, size, and weight. It's just quite a bit less practical, and for some reason I cannot comprehend, thousands of dollars more expensive. |

Can't wait to hear what you think about it. I was thinking about messing around with a F10 M5 in manual for a while.. This should be interesting.

I don't have the only one, they are very rare as most people don't want an
M6 with a manual. I was just lucky to even find one here in the states. It was the only one. |

Beautiful car. I absolutely love the color combination! Kudos to you for going with the manual transmission. Drive safely bud.
BTW, the apostrophe (used when omitting one or more letters/numbers) goes in front of the 14 (e.g., '14). Since you're contracting 2014 to '14, the apostrophe goes in front. 2007 becomes '07 (as opposed to 07'), etc. At first I thought you were trying to say 14-foot M6 lol. Anyway, please excuse my grammar/punctuation police nonsense. It's just a pet peeve of mine. Not that it matters.

Congrats! Yes, should def. be doable. Had an STi shipped from Miami to the Austin area last year. Car was picked up @ 2PM EST and delivered @ 730PM CST for a not-so-whopping $586 (open carrier).

It's a weird sensation for me, I ordered from Germany my last M3 but I knew what to expect as it was my 2nd S65 M3. This is unknown territory for me.
A heavier GT, but massive power modulated with the control of a manual tranny. After the tune 640 HP, yikes. No one has drove one? As I wrote earlier, the car they had had 3 miles on it. No way i'm going to push a new car to get a feel for it. Separate note: Can you "pull" the ebrake like you can a regular break to pull a 180? I've always enjoyed that, but safely. I took a Xanax to calm me down as the wait is driving me nuts! |
