Detailing "lessons" in Calgary?

+1, like a theory lesson where the instructor answers all the question's and then practical where we get to see the instructor do his/her magic whilst getting to try it out also.

I'm pretty adept at detailing but have always been reluctant to use my PC on my "nice" cars for fear of ruining the finish. Some basic instruction would be phenomenal, and I even have our daily drivers to practice on with some supervision...

So guys it looks like this is something that may very well be possible. I've contacted a few shops, and Jed from Mobile Reflections is thinking about putting one together. He has not mentioned any details but will get back to us later.

Hi Stefan,

I hope you have had an enjoyable Christmas! I thought we could continue our discussion on me hosting a workshop for your group of 4 to 6 people. I am hoping I can provide something that will satisfy your learning interests.

I suspect in a 3 hour period we could cover all of the basics, from cleaning to prepping to polishing with an orbital/DA polisher, and sealing and waxing.

Now the logistics: do you or a member of your group have a space where I could host the workshop? We require an ambient temperature of at least 4 to 5 degrees celcius. If you do not, I may be able to arrange something.

Please also let me know if you have additional questions, or ideas or suggestions.

So the actual course sounds pretty much ideal. We do have an issue of venue. Does anyone have a large space for us to use?

BUMP.. hey guys looking for some input on the above post.

Now I want to make sure those of you that have chimed in are indeed serious about moving forward. I am not sure what the cost would be, but imagine what 4-6hours at a high end detailing shop would cost you, just as rough guess.

Let me know if you want to be removed from this list. If not, we should have enough members to get a little workshop going! As the above email requests.. what can we do for a venue? Does any of us have somewhere we can set up?

I'm still interested with the following disclaimer:
I do not have a place to host the workshop, and my schedule with work is absolutely crazy and unpredictable right now. If the price is reasonable, and I am able to make it, I am still in. Jed is an old buddy of mine, and someone certainly worth learning from. It will be money well spent in my opinion.
