What price would you consider a C63?

I prefer the M but the dealers around here are willing to slash prices pretty deeply on the C63. I was wondering to myself what price the C63 would have to be in order to buy it over the M3? 15k cheaper than the M?

The main question is, is it worth it to you??

You have to consider the residual value of the car after a few years as well where BMW fair near the top in premium brands while most of them plummet losing close to 60% of their value in first 4 years.

Obviously, regarding price difference, simple economics dictate it is simple case of supply and demand. The M3 is selling for more because BMW can charge more seeing the demand keeping up or bettering the supply. BMW is managing to move all the M3s from the lots (atleast here in Canada) and mostly taking orders. If they had issues moving them off the lot, BMW would be selling it for much cheaper on par with the rest of the pack.

It is a luxury Merc does not have. If the demand was high enough, trust me they would not be slashing prices by even $1000 let alone by several thousand dollars since every company has the first and foremost obligation to maximize profts on each unit.

It shouldn't be about the money.

If you buy the cheaper car and you're not happy with it, you'll end up paying more when you buy the one you really want, later.

Common sense!

Good luck with your choice, they're both stellar.

I agree at this price point it is about what you want not what you need since with cash for clunkers you can buy a KIA for 4-5 grand that will get you around just fine. These cars are for the sheer love of driving, not just getting from a A to B. Buy the car you want unless you cant really afford it....Steve

MB was(is) giving dealers an extra $7,500 to move 2009 models, combined with the MY 2009 discounts and crappy economy for gas guzzling luxury cars, you can get great deals on new 2009 C63 AMGs.

Some details:
http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/hot-...word1=mercedes

This guy got a great deal too:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=286981

But at the end of the day, you should just choose whatever car makes you happy.

If the price difference compared to an M3 were >$5k it would be a done deal. C63 without a doubt.

for 15k discount yes.

If 5k, then it doesn't really make much different. Just buy the m3 since it is the car you wanted in the first place.

Buy which ever car you like more. But for $15 less... that would probably sway me.

Same thing that happened with the 08 M3's is now happening with the 09 C63's. I'd definitely take it for 15k off. I got my M3 for 18k off

the amg's will depreciate MUCH quicker than an M. You buy your amg and in two years it will be worth less than you owe

There you go:

C63 will depreciate by nearly $36k over the course of 5 years. That is close to 60% of its original value. Total cost of ownership over 5 years will be $78K

http://www.automobilemag.com/am/99/2...hip_costs.html

vs M3 that will only depreciate by $28K over the course of 5 years. That is roughly 50% of its original value. Total cost of ownership over 5 years will be $67K

I gave an offer of $65k 'out the door' for a FULLY loaded C63 before I ordered my M3. Unfortunately, the dealer wouldn't go lower than $75k 'out the door' at that time.

I was going for the C63 because my wife wanted me to get an automatic, and I prefered the auto in the C63 over the DCT in the M3.

But at the end, I went for my first choice that I am most happy with: A stripped M3 with a true manual!

im in the car business and if you think the m3 will lose only 28k in 5 years pass over whatever your smoking. I wont be suprised by January if a new 08 msrp 70k will be going for low 40's. Thats in two years

I just happened to read a thread about what people were paying for their Ms here. They didn't state when they purchased, but I heard discounts as high as $19k off MRSP. I purchased my C63 last month for almost $14k off MSRP.

What sold me in the end was the sound of the stock exhaust and relative ease to getting over 500 crank HP. I found going fast straight more of a benefit than shaving a few seconds on a road course. My eyes were attracted to the M styling but I was seduced by the things that the C said to me. But that is my $.02.

Boombastic has it the best since he can argue on both sides of the fence.
