I have always liked moonroofs for the sole purpose that they open... I hate opening the window and have air hitting my face but dont want to die inside te car so i crack the sunroof... Also it makes it feel more open...

exactly! And when time to resell, a sedan with a moonroof will be more desirable than without.

If you order a dark interior it would feel very claustrophobic without the hole in the roof.

Moon roof here, use it often when the weather permits...

I got it, personally I don't care too much for it. It's great during spring and fall, but too hot to use for summer time. So for me it's a 2 season usage feature. That said, I do have heated seats and love it, even though it's only used during the winter and late fall.
Looking back, I'll rather have my $1000 back and less weight for the return. |

ordered mine without. have one on current whips and i never use it (in case you're asking why did i get them on my current whips then - it's bc they weren't custom ordered - just came with the trim i bought). ask yourself if you're gonna use it. if not - it's just that much harder to keep the car clean. done!

I just ordered an E90 without. I probably lost my taste for sun/moon roofs years ago when they tended to be a leaky mess. I've never been a big fan and, here in Seattle, you get maybe 2-3 months of weather where you might want to open it. So I passed on that option (although I picked just about every other one).

i have to think about 80-90% of the sedans are ordered with the roof. i know that i would not buy a car without one....here in california they come in pretty handy...

I ordered it, I'm used to having it and using it often out here in so cal...I think with the coupe when you are choosing between MF and CF roof it's a no brainer, but I like the aesthetics of a MF on the sedan...

Both '08 & '11 had & have moonroof. Being in sunny SoCal, I use it all the time.

I have trouble fitting in the M3 with a moonroof; especially if I'm wearing a helmet for autocross or other events, so I ordered mine without.

My 335 has one and my M3 doesn't (on purpose). There's a noticeable difference in wind noise, the 335 is quite a bit noisier even with the moonroof and the sun blocker closed, if that matters to you. It's been the same way on every loaner 3-series I've had too. Between the noise and the extra weight and complexity I wouldn't get one if I wasn't forced to, on any 3-series. For some reason the 5's I've had as loaners aren't nearly as noisy.
