Is it worthy extending the Manufacturer's Warranty
Hello,
Just wanting to know what you guys think if the manufacturer's warranty should be extended beyond the standard 3 years? The warranty on my M3 is running out on the 14th December 2013. I have been advised that my car is able to extend under some "Plan C" with "National Warranty Company". I have been quoted: 12mths / 30 000kms = CAT 3 $2,750 12mths / 30 000kms = CAT 4 $4,650 24mths / 60 000kms = CAT 3 $2,950 24mths / 60 000kms = CAT 4 $5,650 36mths / 90 000kms = CAT 3 $3,250 36mths / 90 000kms = CAT 4 $6,650 48mths / 120 000kms = CAT 3 $3,450 48mths / 120 000kms = CAT 4 $7,650 At this stage I am unsure what the difference is between CAT 3 & 4. Given the price difference I suspect that CAT 4 covers more! Alternatively, I could just go for the BMW roadside assistance. That costs $116 per annum. |

Even the bearings, if you have a good service history, changing oil (TWS 10w-60) regularly, if they fail, BMW will come to your aid. These extended warranties are not worth the paper they are written on. As Dave said, there will be all sorts of hidden clauses that may result in your claimed being dishonoured. You will need all that money with a big wedding on the cards ...
