$54,570 for the new M3?
I haven't seen any "let's guess the price" threads so....
I know it sounds way too low but here's how I came to that sub-55K number... 2000 M5 $69,970 base price 2006 M5 $81,200 base price Approximate price increase = 16% If BMW increases the M3's price to the same degree, then should we assume 2001 M3 $47,045 base price x16% = 2008 M3 $54,570 base price, give or take a few hundred I got these prices from Edmunds and they may not include destination, which would only be several hundred more. What do you guys think? I think this is good news! Might be able to get a loaded M3 for about $60K! |

It depends on the level of standard equipment on the car. The $47K E46 M3 came with no sunroof, no leather, no xenons, no power seats, no H/K sound -- ya know, the way a true enthusiast would want it-- lol.
Most of this stuff is now standard on a 335i, so it depends on how BMW wants to set up the M3. Audi put almost every option already on the RS4 (= heavy and expensive). Hopefully BMW will keep the car basic and allow the buyer to customize the car (like Porsche does with their cars). In saying all that, if they keep the car pretty basic I think $55K base price is very likely, and $60-62K for one that has the standard luxo goodies (convenience package, upgraded sound, cold weather package), topping out at $70K with everything (bigger wheels, Nav, SMG, whatever other gizmos they can think up -- similar to RS4 price). |

$57.5k
My guess is $57.5k base (no opinion yet on how loaded it may or may not be).
My guess was posted here along with all my other predictions/guesses: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13248 How about a poll? |
