Best options for XM

I've got an 08' M3 so from what I read it is the CIC unit..

Anybody have XM in their 08' after doing either a external unit purchased from XM or maybe done some coding? I really want XM but I don't mind having an external unit.. but if I can get coding done and some hardware for the same price, I'd go with that.

Any thoughts?

It can't just be coded in.

Yeah, good point.. not sure why I said that. Probably the cheapest option is an external unit going into the 3mm but that sure is ugly haha

That will definitely be the cheapest option.

If you have an 08 M3, the navi should be a CCC Unit. You could always upgrade to the CIC unit then buy FSC code to activate the Sirius radio. It will be clean as it is completely OEM. Drawback is the cost on the CIC unit. 1500-2300 ish but you do get the new interface and new maps. I went this route but then upgraded my car.
