wheel painting?
I have a set of OEM alloys off a non BMW car which I wanted to get painted gloss/matt black and wondered if anyone knew of a good shop in the area that could do such a job. I'd hate to have to ship them all the way to Cali to a few shops I know in the area who routinely do such work. Any thoughts or suggestions gents/gentettes?

Designo Motoring in Dulles, VA. They're site is currently down due to reconstruction, but if you'd like to see some cars they've taken care of Google Designo Motoring and there should be a myspace result where you can see some pictures of what they've worked on. They deal with most athletes and celebrities in the DC area.

Hey guys,
My wheels are actually matte finish. 20% I'm not sure what the current pricing is but their address is MDpowdercoating.com, Metal Refinishing Systems© 5360 Enterprise St, Eldersburg MD 21784 410.795.7130 Darren is the owner. Also just a word of warning I know sometimes shops go through cycles of quality and responsiveness. I have not been in quite some time. Hope that helps. |

I called a few local places here you guys suggested above...They basically want you to just bring the rim in so they can coat it...and it takes about 5 business days...that sucks...

2k is a bit too much. Might as well buy a spare set.
The biggest problem you will run into is most shops will ask you to drop the wheels off. How does one do this if they use the car? The only soution is if you have a second set. Make it tough if you ask me. :-( |

I am getting some door dings removed at d+v auto body and he said I can leave my car at his garage and have the wheels sent out and powder coated by a guy in manassas for a small fee on top of the powder coat...might take him up on that..
