I had my first CEL ever come up on M3 this week. Turns out it was the O2 sensor codes Post cat and O2 sensor ‘vibration’ codes post cat and they cleared just fine. The car never went into limp mode either.

I have also elected to replace the throttle actuator gears in an effort to avoid more expensive circuit board repairs later on. I ordered the kit from Odometer Gears Ltd in the USA at a cost of US$ 263 inclusive of FedEx cost. Delivery is scheduled for Monday and I am looking to get Josh at Galvsport to do the install next Thursday all going well. Thanks for the recommendation Stu !

I had the gears on the throttle body actuators replaced recently. I used a company called Odometer Gears in the USA to purchase the plastic gears to replace the oem brass gears. The intention here is to prevent the TB circuit boards from overheating due to oem gears not turning well due to corrosion. The cost for the gears was US$225.00 plus $39 freight. I had Josh at Galvsport handle this job and it takes 3 hours. Hopefully this ticks off the last of the preventative maintenance tasks required for some time now.

Nice work indeed mate. FYI I haven't (touch wood) had any CELs since I did mine a couple of months back so fingers crossed I caught it in time before the motherboards start to play up...

So I had the M serviced this week and had to replace the rear brake discs and pads ($840 later). My mechanic also inspected and noted that the steering rack is leaking and will need to be replaced. The price on the M3 unit is $2770. Anyone on here had to replace the steering rack on their E9X ?
