Sunday is RTA 1, and there's going to be a ton of cars there competing. I know you like doing both weekend days, but try to avoid that day like it's the plague if you're not competing. Last year, not knowing what xTA's are like, I signed up (mainly bcuz Joel talked me into it - "it's our first RTA event and lots of press are going to be there, I need lots of participation, etc, etc") and, simply due to TD tires, my mostly-stock car was put in the Modified class. Imagine my surprise (yes, I didn't read the rules ) when I was gridded and surrounded by practically-race cars. In fact, full-aero'd, S/C'd, light/stripped cars that run on race fuels are put into (s)lower Street class simply because they run R-S3 type of street tires.

Yes. As you know cheaper does not always equate to better

It should thin out as the season progresses. It was the first day of 2014 season for Bimmer, S2k & Miata Challenge. Quote:
BTW, I think the classes go (from slowest to fastest): Enthusiast, Street, Modified and Unlimited. And, each of those are further sub-broken into AWD, FWD and RWD sub-classes. Indeed. But, all organizers have pro's & con's - there's no one that's perfect. And, if I wanted to run on a certain weekend, and on tracks like CVR & BRP (which I like a lot) there's no other organizer running other than Extreme Speed, I'll do it.

Love the pics! what was up with the cones over lost hills (or is that magic mtn? angle has me confused...)?
Love the Imola E46M3 sliding sideways with the gas door open. Ferrari going agro looked funny too. Almost got the outhouse (probably staring it down the whole time - big mistake!).

Re: them cones, that's from Cotton Corner T5 to Grapevine T6. A hole on the right side of the track right before the Grapevine apex was discovered, so those cones were laid out just for session #3, and the grounds crew repaired it quickly, and the cones were gone for session #4. These photos are from session 3 cool-down lap. Re: Imola E46, I think he was running on some sh*tty street tires that got greasy quick (@ Sunrise). .
