Will a full exhaust system void my CPO warranty?

I'm curious as to whether getting a header back exhaust would pose problems, I mean i know it would void the warranty on exhaust related components but what about everything else?

CPO warranty does not have anything to do with a full exhaust... but if you have any issue with your 02 or something related to that part most dealer will blame the exhaust...

I mean that makes sense. But say my engine messes up, could they link the two?

Just keep the OEM one and if you run into a problem, put it back on before taking it to the dealer. It's highly doubtful that they will ever notice you had a bolt on exhaust system installed at some point, and they'd probably never be able to prove it.

Bottom line, they have to prove whatever modification you made was the direct cause of the malfunction. I doubt very much that they could ever do that with an exhaust system, if your engine just happens to "mess up."

Hmmm.. Well I was going to have my axle back installed at the dealer to avoid any issues IE some people have had differential malfunction due to improper removal of certain bolts/screws.

In all honesty, I'm not very handy at all and I just installed my Gintani on my own. All parts were reused from the OEM exhaust. I haven't heard of people having issues with even regular old muffler shops installing their new exhausts, it really is a simple process. Plus, the dealership will charge an arm and leg for the cost of this, where you could do it yourself in as little as 3 hours. Up to you...

You should be able to take it to a reputable muffler shop, instead of the dealer... I tend to avoid the dealerships I go to unless I'm really tight with the SA...

Thanks for the input. I guess my reasoning was if they ever say the exhaust caused a problem not related to strictly exhaust components IE not putting a bolt back where it should be(differential failures) then I could tell them to fuckoff as they did the work.

Templar, when you did your exhaust did you use ramps or jack stands? I was changing my tires and thought it might be tight under there with just the stands.
