Thumbs up E92-Lighting V12 angel eyes review

I had decided to upgrade my angel eye V7's to the V12's from E92-Lighting and wanted to do a review of them.

First of all having some experience installing this is most helpful as you can spend a fair amount of time playing the game of how to get them in and still latch(turn) them into light fixture. These LED's have HUGE heat sinks on them which I feel is very important to dissipate the heat so they take up all available room within the housing plus there is now a cooling fan installed on the back of the heat sinks. Excluding the space below where it's mounted of course, that area is where the driver box of the lights would go. I have large hands so I have found that using 2 pairs of pliers, long needle nose and an angled pair, work very well for this install. The install took me about 20 minutes which isn't bad at all. It just takes some patience and learning the right angles to move the lights in.

So after the install and I finally turned them on in a medium lighting garage I was amazed at how much brighter these things were. Twice as bright matter of fact, so the wattage rating is consistant from what I observed of the intensity of the output. V7's having 64W output and the V12's having 120W. The outer ring was much more illuminated and even looking than with the old V7s. No flickering what so ever. At night I can't even look at them they are so bright.

Here's another cool thing I noticed with these. I was curious if the cooling fan was actually working correctly or not so I turned on just the parking lights while the car wasn't running and you can actually hear the cooling fans running. It's not loud by any means but when it's really quiet you can hear them. That was re-assuring to know they were functioning properly. I have no doubt these lights will last a long time do to this improvement.

I took some photos but my camera wasn't capturing them well so I will try again later with a better camera so you all can see what they look like.

I'd also like to thank Derrick with his assistance and advice on lighting, he's very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

Hope you guys find this review informative.

I've had (2) versions of the E92Lighting Dtec AE's - found them to be very hard to install in E92 due to size of heat sink, as long as they worked they looked good - but both sets had one side burn out shortly after the warranty period

So basically I went back to LUX - easier to install and last considerably longer than the DTEC's
