In 18 months of ownership I've been pulled over 6 times...
Normal or excessive?

Let's say you are not actually a lunatic to give you the benefit of the doubt...
- One way or the other, what you are doing is attracting too much attention. You need to choose your spots.

I'm honestly not sure if thats excessive, people are getting pulled over for the lamest shit these days, so if you're at the wrong place at the wrong time they'll find something to pull you over for.

Reasons given.. I dont think I drive that bad, but do speed here and there. I dont mind paying if I did the crime but the last few stops were just harassment.
1. No license plates: Duh car was new, no ticket 2. 90 in 65, cruising by myself in carpool lane. Got a ticket. 3. Blocking intersection/intoxication: I was going to Oktoberfest, not leaving it. No ticket. 4. 50 in a 30 and "California" Stop, which the officer could not have physically been a witness to: Contested, won case. 5. Exhibition of speed (I took a turn fast): No ticket 6. Front window tint, no front license plate: Fix it ticket

6 times huh... not bad... i have only owned my m3 for 3 weeks now and got pulled over once for tint( no ticket due to my sergeant PBA card)... But when i had my 335 i was pulled over at least 3 times a month or so for speeding( never got one ticket due to my sergeant PBA) LUCKY!!!!! I can only imagine now with this beast parked in my driveway...

wow, Ive been pulled over once in over a year and I deserved it since I was being careless speeding on PCH aka known revenue generation point. I got 35% tint all around 80% in frount and no front plate but they never even look twice. I think LA county is your problem cuz I dont encounter this in OC.
However now that I have posted this, Im sure I just jinxed myself! Last edited by wuzupfoo; 09-24-2010 at 04:25 PM.. |

Repblic of Kalifornia for sure
With all due respect, CHP and many CA local jurisdictions are so ticket happy that this strangely seems normal. With the nations highest property, income and sales taxes coupled a broke state and many local governments...tickets are a very large source of revenue. A side effect is that it also makes the insurance companies rich in the process! Thankfully I escaped from CA to Denver, one ticket in the past 8 years! |
