Very nice. Do you have part numbers to share with folks. I assume coding was necessary.

Sure I have it :
module pdc - control unit (front and rear pdc) - 66206982403
pdc sensors 66206934308 (black)
pdc sensors rubber rings 66206923000
sensors holders - one for each sensor,
center console switch,

and you need to have also wire harness (communication - signal from front sensors to pdc module- control unit).

This list is valid for my car - 2008 with navi professional.

After installation the car has to be coded - by BMW SA or somebody with knowledge, software and hardware :-)

It depends - if buy parts via ebay - is quite cheap:
sensors - 15 usd each
pdc module - 125 usd
centre console switch - 75 usd

Parts that you probably will not buy on ebay and you have to buy from BMW SA:
wire harness - 100 usd
sensor holders - 3 usd each

Installation cost me ca 200 usd - but it could be much more expensive in usa.

Damn!! Nice looking and much cheaper than I would have thought for the parts!!!!

Did you have rear PDC already? I already have rear PDC. Will I need the control unit or will my current control unit already has the plugs for the front sensors (where the V socket goes to).

Also, what is the center console switch for? I am guessing to put the system into PDC mode? For rear, it does it auto while in revere gear, but I guess for forward, it needs to know you want PDC. Is that right?

Thanks for including the PDF!!!! Fantastic!!!!!

No - I installed front and rear.

Centre console switch is to turn pdc on and off.

Yes you have to drill the bumber - but the holes are not cover - You have to be skilful to do it properly - then you needn't cover anything - my bumper wasn't even painted after this operation.

Cool. Reading the PDF, I see that you use a smaller 3mm drill bit at first, then bore it out with a graduated bit. That would indeed provide a nice clean hole.

Seems like a DIY project for those with moderate skills. Only difficult part IMHO would be doing the bumper drilling to get a clean edge.

After scouting out parts, and assuming I can use my existing control module, this appears doable for about $250 USD, excluding the coding. Very cheap if so!!!

Wonder how the front sensors were attached without the bumper having the tabs that locks them in place . Should have told bodyshop to delete those ugly reflectors .

pdc holders has tape with glue - so it is easy to stick them in the place

to delete bumper reflectors - you need to have the hole bumper painted ... so I decide not to do it.

Anyone else done this for a 2011 M3 Convertible (or know if the thread applies?) I have rear PDC and would love to add front PDC.

Will the front PDC display on the screen just as the rear does?

As far as I know - it will work also for convertible. I attached pdf file - and there's also info about e93 front pdc retrofit.

Did mine with the Euro front bumper. Got the bumper from ebay.co.uk for $175 bucks and 4 sensors from Spain for $75. Shipping sucked, but it's cleaner than ripping into the US bumper and it already has the clips you need for the sensors - pre-installed. Once properly coded the Front PDC will definitely show up on the screen.
