Service

Took my 08 e92 M3 in for a brake fluid flush on Saturday. When the SA read the key, the car told him I also needed differential fluid, oil filter and spark plugs. The he read the mileage and said oh you only need the brake flush cause your car is low miles. He said the other stuff is not required until 37k miles. My car has 20k miles and is low miles. Any thoughts on this? My inclination is to have them do what the key says is required. Especially since the factory warranty runs out in three months. I do have CPO and extended warranty until 7/ 2014.

Sounds fishy to me. This system based on the keyfob should take miles into account, don't they?

Here is BMW's service schedule for the items you mention:
Brake fluid change - every two years based upon production date.
Oil filter change - every oil change.
Spark plugs - every 37,000 miles.
Differential fluid change - every third "engine oil service".

Thanks DBH. I was most wondering about the spark plugs.

Plugs should be covered by Maintenance Plan 4/50. However, Plugs are only every 30-35K. If you have the loud banging noise when the Diff is cold, there's a chance that Diff fluid was not changed at 1200 mile service, so a Diff fluid renew wouldnt be the worst thing in the world and it should be covered by Warranty, in fact. There's a bulletin on another post about the Diff fluid issue.
