C63 vs m4

As an e92 owner considering the f80 m3 this video leaves me with doubts...lots of them.

The solution is to keep your e92! With the right exhaust and a few other mods, you'll have better sound than a C63 (IMO), similar straight line performance, and kick its butt on the track ;-) Plus you'll have a classic with better looks (again, IMO)

Wow the M4 is in so much trouble this generation especially when the reviewer starts the comparison by saying how disappointing the M4 engine is and that it's a product of regulations and not what M would have wanted.

Want to be more dissapointed... I guess this is why they created: Active Sound Design..

Stick with the real M3 people...

Kinda weak and biased review... dude complained so much about the exhaust tone, we get it! it's a turbo inline 6 against a NA V8, does he know that?

Also considering the next gen C63 will be twin-turbo V8, next RS car will be twin-turbo V8, the ATS-V will be a 500hp (larger V-6) twin turbo, and the CTS-V will have the new 630hp Z06 motor....so it's already going to be down on power too compared to all of those cars~

Why do people keep saying every car company is succumbing to environmental regulations with turbos? As if that is the only solution? The new Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Lexus RC-F, Honda NSX, Porsche all offer NA engines with increased environmental consideration. I think as mentioned above, BMW is in trouble with the new M3/4. But I could be wrong, there is probably enough people in the world that will buy the car based on the ///M badge alone......

I agree. That was BMW/M's solution, but it's not the only option as clearly demonstrated by other brands.

Truth is this new turbo engine probably addresses the majority of buyers more than the S65 did. Maybe not the majority of us forum dwellers and enthusiasts, but prospective buyers. It's more stunning in the looks department, modern gadgetry, and the speed sensation arrives more immediately. I remember when the E9X first came out and guys at the dealer told me that test drivers were often more impressed with the 335 than M3. They revved both to 5k rpm.

Not sure how this is biased. The comparo is against BMW's rival. So BMW gave you the torque to match the MB, minus the sound, and crispiness of an NA engine. Instead we are sold a meme that this is due to environmental this, or weight savings that. It's corporate kool aid and propaganda. Meanwhile BMW sells you a car that shares 50% of the parts of the base model, for the same price. BMW in my opinion is going the Audi route. M badges on all product lines, instant torque for in city driving. Less of a business on Friday, Race on Saturday type of deal.

Well there's no doubt the S65 is a filthy, fuel gulping pig. It's magnificent and I love it, and no way considering a new M3/4. That turbo truck motor holds no appeal to me.

Throttle response and sound are important to me; they play a significant role in my enjoying the car on the street and track.

Weird, I can't seem to find this on the M4 forums. Wonder why? A new review from M Power magazine seems to like the car though, so that's good to hear. No bias there of course.

It just got posted in the big thread with all the reviews in it. The M4 guys are already making excuses and are staying in denial.
