Confimed that FSC for 2012 maps doesn't work for 2013 btw.

I was able to get a new fsc code and successfully updated.

Unlike the old update the new one has to be loaded via a USB drive. The update itself is 21.2GB in size and should be copied onto a single USB drive. Since USB drive double in increments the only other size after 16GB is 32GB and is the smallest size you can use to fit the entire update onto one drive. Also, remember the drive must be formatted as fat32 in order for the iDrive system to recognize it.

If you use Linux or Mac, you can use wget on the command line to recursively get all of the files.

Code:
$ wget -m -np -p --no-parent -X BMW%20Nav http://kmarei.minidns.net:8000/m/BMW_CIC_NAVIGATION_NORTH_AMERICA_2013/

so.... i have an '06 MINI Cooper S with the BMW MKIV Nav System. I have tried downloading the set kmarei hosted, burning them 1x, 2x, 4x.. at once, and more. I cannot get the disks to be recognized in my drive. The dvd that is in there is a burned dvd so it isn't that it can't read them.

I tried buying these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261129856986...84.m1439.l2649 from seller neco223 on eBay. No dice.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get my maps updated? You would have a highly grateful fan in me. I got the OS to update, just cannot get the map disks right.

Given that the you have a 2006, I am assuming have the "disc based" system. By this I mean, that you have a disc in the system at all times to provide the map data. I am not familiar with what constitutes a "MKIV" system, so hence the presumption based upon model year.

The downloads discussed in this thread are for the hard drive based system that BMW introduced in 2009. The discs are only used to load the data to the hard drive and do not remain in the drive for functionality.

If you have the disc based system, then perhaps Ebay may be the best source.

Geekgirl did mentioned how he/she purchased a 2 disc dvd from ebay and from that particular link, that would be the disc based navigation maps.

I'm not familiar with the mini so I got nothing for you

You can try whats77inhisname's link. Seems like the best option for ya

I used kmarei's download (thank you Kmarei) and it starts the update process and then immediately tells me something about my existing maps being tampered with and that I should contact the dealer. I didn't even get to the point of putting in my new FSC code. I tried both the glove compartment and the armrest USB ports and 2 different 32GB memory sticks. Any ideas?

Is your USB Stick formatted to Fat32?

The memory sticks are formatted as FAT32. The exact error is:

The navigation data in the car is incomplete or manipulated. Please have it checked by your service center.

Is this an issue with the data on the flash drive or already in the car? Any guesses?

Sounds like your download may have been corrupted. Kmarei could create a checksum of the .rar file so you could use that to verify your download.

Something was corrupted. I formatted the flash drive again and then copied all of the files back over and everything went fine. It updates MUCH faster from the memory key than from the DVD's last year. Thank you all for your help.
