extended maintenance

Hi guys

MY CPO 08 e93 is out of warranty the end of Oct 2012. I'm trying to decide whether I should purchase the extended maintenance or not. The deal quote me $3500. Do anybody have any suggestion?

We are in November. You are past the purchase time.

You will get two more oil changes and a brake fluid change. That is $500 worth of servicing for only $3500. Not a bargain in my book. If you were really lucky, you might get a set of front brakes out of it, worth maybe $1000. Still not a bargain in my book.

If it was a CPO warranty and you were worried, two years of major expense coverage for $3500 might give you peace of mind.

I'd put the $3500 in the bank and self insure.

extended maintenance is a rip off unless you know you need new rotors soon or a clutch on top of oil changes and pads.

probably not if he isn't taking the car as well. you can simply call the dealership to find out the facts though.

I usually look for an alternate service location after warrantee/maintenance expires. You can get quality work at a fraction of the cost, so it takes the risk out of the repair worry.

The maintenance is a rip off. The extended maintenance or CPO Is tied solely to the VIN.

thanks for all advices. If I don't service my car at bmw dealer, the CPO is valid? when something goes wrong?
