To paint frozen gray or stay SGM?

My car was pretty severly hail damaged last fall, and is now getting repairs. Changes include a carbon roof and CSL style trunk. The body shop recently asked if I wanted to change the color. To be honest, I had not really though about it. But if I were going for a color change it would likely be frozen gray.

Should I stay sparking graphite of go frozen gray?

Here is how it looked pre hail damage:

Another option would be wrap. That doesn't hurt your resell value like repainted. Here's some pics of my r35, grey wrapped with satin clear bar. I think the M3's grey would come out similar.

We have an E90 335i in SG and while I think the colour was nifty three or four years ago, I don't think it's as appealing anymore (just my own personal opinion thats all).

That said, I'm not sure about the viability of a frozen type finish in my climate. My vote is for a SG paint finish with a vinyl wrap on top. The wrap can easily be removed later, and will protect the OEM paint colour underneath-best of both worlds.

Definitely change the color to one of the unique individual colors or frozen gray or graphite. This would be prohibitively expensive otherwise. Check out the IND threads and talk to them. This is a no brainer, going SGM would be a HUGE miss. Everyone, and here in Seattle I mean EVERYONE has a gray car.

Keep the car original. Unless you are willing to strip the car to do a proper color change it will devalue the car to any prospective buyer at the time of resale. Besides, Sparkling Graphite is the most rare Non Individual M3 color made. You are lucky to have one of the few 08 SG M3's, keep it that way.

I personally wouldn't buy a car that was color changed unless I knew it was stripped down to the bare shell to be repainted.

I personally love Sparkling Graphite and would have opt'd for the colour if avail when i bought my car. But perhaps vinyl wrap would be a safer bet.
