You're definitely entitled to your own opinion. I'll share more info when available.

"Official" pricing

Frank is right that this is not official, in that the car has not been even previewed yet, and the Coupe pricing was just released, which is due far before the M3. I'm not saying some preliminary sheet didn't find it's way out of New Jersey, but it can't be officially released information.

Pricing spreadsheet

At best this pricing is preliminary (under consideration) by BMWNA and we won't see official pricing for about a year. It does appear in the ballpark of what I am expecting.

I don't expect pricing to be quite this a la carte, however. I expect some of the features displayed as options to be standard and/or included in packages.

Note, the pricing is not as low as many appear to think. A fully-optioned M3 (per this pricing) will run over $70k, and that's before delivery, prep, gas guzzler, and other taxes (though the $3100 ZPP Premium Package might include some of the options and thus full pricing be somewhat lower).

For your convenience, I pasted all of the posted pricing information into an Excel spread sheet and attached it here.

Hey Tom, Great to see you here from m5board. I agree this info cannot possibly be finalized.

FYI: I called my salesman - err, client advisor - yesterday and he didn't have any of this information. So who knows if it's true or not. Doesn't matter - I still have dibs on the first M3 build at my dealership.

You don't add weight back because of the size increase. The e92 coupes weigh 3351 (328i) and 3571 (335i). Average=3461 despite the size increase. If the carbon roof is true, I bet the weight will be lower than the e46. My prediction is 2 secs flat 0-62 mph, with a proper launch of course.

$70K fully loaded is still a good value in my opinion. My 06 MSRP was $64k. I'm sure the e92 will outhandle my ZCP especially with a carbon roof. The skid pad figure for the e46 CSL is 1.4g. The Carrera GT is 1.35g. CSL Nurburgring time is 7:50. McLaren SLR laps a 7:52. Impressive to say the least. It will be interesting to see if the e92 does better than a 7:50.

A sub 8-minute full-Ring (not just BTG) time would be phenomenal and unexpected for the E92 M3 coupe (not CSL). That would make it much faster than the M6.

This pricelist is BS. The M3 won't even have SMG III. It'll have SMG IV and maybe a manual as an option. It's a modified M5 US pricelist with many of the same options. It's been identified as a hoax on multiple BMW sites, so I wish people would stop bringing it up.

Best regards,

Jussi

As far as I know, all the same options will be available on both continents, so that would be a yes. If the SMG IV (if that is what it'll be called) is the default transmission, then I would see no reason not to offer it on any of the markets. And even if it's an option that costs, same thing.

Best regards,

Jussi

Jason,

Could we please get this post moved or deleted? I saw it was even quoted at carscoop.blogspot.com from this forum as a "fact", it's tarnishing your reputation, since it also included the name of this forum as the source as if it was released by this forum or you personally.

Here's the posting over there: http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2006/08...t-on-tape.html

Best regards,

Jussi
