How exactly is this overpriced? why dont you ask your dealer how much it would cost you to get a frozen individual color, just for fun?

Fast forward 10 years, with the limited production numbers this will be a *hot* item on the used market. It will fetch $$$ where your nice mineral white will be $20k if we're lucky. Thats what is special about this edition, and the fact that you will probably never see another one on the road very soon.
i had to go back to this one and apologize for having a misinformed opinion. i was at the dealer yesterday and every M3 coupe there was $70-75k MSRP!! base MSRP has really come a long way from $40k in 2008

so as long as you can get one of these editions for $500-600 over invoice, then it's actually a pretty good/fair deal

i still disagree with your crystal ball though, i don't think frozen or matte paint cars will be worth anything more in the future. the automotive world will move on to its next fad by then.

and as far as these being "limited", well if you put all these editions together, they really aren't all that limited anymore, are they? and the BMW enthusiast community already seems to think that BMW has made a mockery of limited edition M3's.

what's worse is that there is nothing truly significant, special, or historic about any of these editions, so why would they be collectible? they are not groundbreaking in any way or significantly better in any respect than the base model.

Seriously?? Has anyone perhaps counted the number of "Special" editions on the E90/E92? That should interesting.

O, and I think we can expect a "DTM" edition soon after the recent success!!

I however, might grab one of the last '13 allocations and build a 'Poorman Limited Edition" M3. It's an M3 with only speed cloth/leather, comfort access and SAT radio.

With vinyl covered sun visors. Replace those for sure with the fabric covered ones.

Why don't they make a Nürburgring Edition?

They've done just about everything else.

Good point. The only thing I worry about is what if I'm out golfing and a bird poops onthe paint and I'm gone for 4+ hours and its 85 degrees out side then what!! This is the only thing I am concerned with. Maintaining the paint I have no issues just was and don't wax that's no prob its the bird poo that I'm worries about. But we will see when we get one how it looks in person and ill go from there

Wow this Limited M3 is counting on people who are new to owning a BMW but have the money to afford 75k plus tax for a car that is really worth avg of 65K...

Just wait for the new M3 & M4 and then I can say the new platform is worth the price...

So you put a car cover on everywhere you go? You don't get wear and scratches on the rear of the trunk from the cover?

Good idea on the cover seems like it would be a hassle but could be worth it if the car looks that good in person. We will see.

I think they are still limited if you put them all together

All they're doing is coming out with these special editions to keep the buyers interested due to the next generation coming out. They need to keep their sales numbers going instead of people saying "I'll wait until the M4" hence all the special editions to make people buy what's left of the current editions. This was never the case with the E46 M3...

Hate to admit it, but BMW is really watering down the exclusivity of their special editions.

I'm curious to know how this will affect collectibility in 15-20 years or so.

...further proof that ///Marketing is in control of ///Motorsport. The only true recent Limited Editions are the E46 CSL and the 1M. There is zero regret now for giving my money to the Zuffenhausen folks. M lost its soul.

PS: My dealer tried to sell me the Lime Rock edition at below MSRP (in Long Island) a while ago; it is still collecting dust in the showroom.
