Car for up to 45k

My wife needs a newcar, nav is needed. She only drives local because she's scared of the highway. Thoughts?

Depends on what she cares about / prefers.

Sonata / Optima / Fusion are great cars and even when loaded leave you with plenty of extra. The Nav system in the Fusion along with SYNC is pure badassness.

GS350 is great, but gets expensive with options (which are necessary IMO).

In that case, Cadillac SRX... or Buick Enclave if she's looking for something larger.

You didn't think of including this information in your original post?

Forester
Legacy
Edge
AWD Fusion
LR2 (if she likes heading in for repairs)

A Sequoia is big, man. You sure she "needs" that much "practicality"?

If someone is scared of certain driving situations, I don't think the largest Japanese export is appropriate.

A4 Avant Quattro, with navi $43,600. Before any discounts you can get.

Didn't see the practicality bit. New Durango or Ford Explorer ftw.
