Volk TE37 18x9.5f and 18x10.5r fitments
Hi,
I've decided to run my 18" Volks this summer on a daily basis, and need to order summer tires. I have an Eibach pro-kit on my car and was hoping to run a set-up that would have minimal rubbing, especially since I live in Downtown Toronto which is pothole central. On a previous thread, I noted the following fitments would work: Front: 275/35/18 Rear: 295/35/18 Can anyone confirm if the front or rear would rub with this set-up? Or would this set-up be more favourable: Front: 265/35/18 Rear: 285/35/18 Or alternatively, Front: 265/35/18 Rear: 295/35/18 Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Would like to order my tires from Tireack.com tonight. Thanks, Aly |

If you do find a 295/35/18 tire that fits in the rear, you can also do 275/35/18 in the front. |

You can run a 275/35 up front but it will rub at full lock on the front and rear of the fender lining until the rubber wears down a bit. Im running Volks right now as well in those sizes and I went 265/35 and 285/35 combo, RS-3 tires. I was gonna go 275/35 again, but did not want to rub again like my previous set up, but it was not bad.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the responses!!!
I'm tossing between the Continental ExtremeContact DWs or the Kuhmo Ecsta LE Sports (which are about 30% cheaper in price). Any experience with either of these tires? Pej -- how's it going man? We should catch up. What's your email? Mine is a.damji@me.com. Let's chat and plan to get together. |

On the M3s that have TE37s and TE37SLs installed at our facility, most have gone with the 265/35-18 and 285/35-18 setup, with the Hankook RS-3s. These cars were daily driven too!

If you track often, live in a dry/little rain climate zone (like SoCal), then the RS3 or AD08s would be the tire of choice. From my knowledge and experience with tire fitments, you can fit 295/30/18 in the rear, but you cannot fit a 295/35/18 275/35/18 Front will rub at full lock, otherwise you'll be fine. If you were stock-ish height, and sufficient negative camber, you could run 18x10.5 et20 285/35/18 RS3 in the front I know this cause I test fitted and I cleared. 265/35/18 285/35/18 is the preferred set up. You shouldn't have any rubbing. This is my primary set up (with RS3s), and I tracked every weekend last month if you tell us the specs of your TE37s, it'll help.

On lowered cars for the fronts, will 265/35/18's on a 18x9.5 et15 wheel rub? What about 255/40/18? I'm thinking of the 255 tire because it's a larger diameter tire, which means more ground clearance and fills up the wheel gap better.

295-35-18 will not fit with a 19x10.5 and an offset of 22. In order to make this tire size fit, I had to CNC machine 3mm off the back pad to make the offset 25mm. I run a 295-30-19 rear without issues. Alignment settings are as follows: Front Camber = -2.0* on street, -2.5* track Front Total Toe = 1/16th" IN Rear Camber = -2.0* Rear Total Toe = 1/8th" IN (I change my settings around often)

Not sure on a et15, that's really aggressive but I don't see why not as long as the car isn't too low with the correct alignment settings my car is about 1/4 dropped in theory (never measured) (1/2in dinan drop, 1/4in raised from plates) and i fit a 285/35/18 18x10.5 et20

The few people who I know that run apex 18x10 et25 275/35/18 RS3s (a fat tire as you know, not comparable to a PS2) sq set up, rub on full lock turns (against the fender lining, that's it) Cambers are -2.5, -3, and -4. E92, e92, E90. I never asked their toe settings. I rub on full lock when I do 285/35/18 18x10.5 et20. I do not rub on 18x9.5 et22. Camber is -2.5 in the front, I forgot my toe (I can look it up if anyone really wants me to) Thanks for the back up on the 295-35 not fitting

An 18x10 ET25 wheel has 1.35mm less clearance from the fender than an 18x9.5 ET20 wheel does. I can post more measurements if you like to outline the clearance differences. Again, we were not discussing APEX wheels initially, I am not sure why you brought up those sizes and wheels arbitrarily. Anyways,

Simple, for another fitment example in case someone decides to run a different wheel setup/configuration but ended up reading up on this thread.
That would be informative and useful.
