Will the next generation of M cars have turbos?
Why no HUD in M3? Why can't we have real launch control? Why no M badge for the X5? Will the M brand expand to other series in the future? Why does BMW allow stealers to slam us with $20k to $50k mark ups when a new M car is released? In your opinion, What auto brand is the M's closest competitor? Why no M experience offered with new M3? What are you hiding from us? (just fishing) |

Just for fun I went to the audi dealership to test drive a TT with DSG just to get a rough idea on how the M-DCT will feel. (I know they are world apart but its the colsest thisn to the M-DKG i can drive. While looking around in the showroom, I noticed that half the cars, including A4, A3, Q7, has the "S" line option and hence The "S" logo. I think this cheapens the brand equity hence the RS4. I really hope that BMW doesn't start slapping "M" on all their cars. an "M" X5 would be sweet but I would call it someting different- I leave it to BMW marketing to figure out what that would be. I don't think the X5 needs the V10- the new turbo V8 from the X6 should be OK. I realize a lillte but wanted to share my .02 cents. It be great if HUD came as an option in 09, if later I won't wait. |

Just picked up my 2008 M3. Dealership forgot to order BlueTooth(BMW Assist) for the car and now they tell me it can't be installed. Take the car or order a new one ( 3 more months).I have the tech pkg in the car. Does anyone know if there is a retro kit for E92 or if there is anyway Bluetooth can be installed thru my navigation screen? Thanks

Also, even the 135i has gone 'up. in brakes: it's an obvious improvement.

-1. More pistons does not by definition equal better brakes. I'd be willing to bet the 135i does not have composite (two metals) floating rotors. These are key in resting warping. The M3 has a greater swept brake area per ton. The pad compound is another key factor along with designing for brake cooling by airflow. I am not saying the 135i multi-pots are bad but I have heard they fade as well.

skierman,
This is very important, and I think it is something valid, but I don't believe he may be able to answer it. If he can't, have him email you or something to get a response...(if you don't mind) The thing is, I read on m3forum.com that the person responsible for BMW Individual mentioned that LSB (Laguna Seca Blue) is no longer available as a color to BMW Individual because the company that makes it is bankrupt. This, to me, sounds a little fishy. He also mentioned that there is great demand for it in the US, and that this is unfortunate. So, can you ask him if these claims are true and if LSB (a) will be available as of next year, (b) can be ordered through Individual, or (c) can be ordered as a special order color. |
