Those with Covercraft Windshield Sunshade Please Chime In
I got this the other day and it doesn't seem to be a perfect fit as described on their website. There is a large opening near the rear view mirror, but it does fit the overall length pretty well. Do I have the wrong cover?

Found the answer to my own question on another thread. Seems like its an issue with our specific model. Will try to get a refund as this is definitely not a perfect fit. So much for Covercraft

Its technically illegal in most States but get a very slight tint (like 75%) put on the windshield. A co-worker has it on his car in combination with 55% (legal limit) on the rest of his windows and it works wonders in the summer.

The previous owner of my car left the same cover for me and it fits just like yours did.

It won't work as well as a full cover like that but there is certainly noticeable difference between the temp getting into his car with the tint and mine without.

But this thread is about folding sunshades that are supposed to be an exact fit, not window tint.

I have an F10 version of this shade and have to tell you that not only is that cutout obviously to large, but it doesn't look like it covers all the way up to the headliner like the F10 cover does either. I wonder if they just "spec'd" an already manufactured shade as the "right" one for the E9x, rather than go measure and get it right?

Just offering an alternative solution that doesn't require setup whenever you park.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I contacted Covercraft informing them I was not satisfied and that the picture on the website does not the match the product that was offered. I sent them some pics too. Let's see what they will have to say. I'm hoping for a refund to get a different brand. So who has the best fit? Heatshield? BavAuto? OEM BMW?
I do like the idea of tinting the windshield really light, I've been meaning to tint my front windows as well. I'm just too paranoid to take it somewhere and have them potentially scratching up the interior. I've done a lot of stuff with the X5 and lesson learned was to keep everything alone as possible (i.e. don't open door panels up too much as well as other trim pieces. Even if you replace the clips, the fitment will never be as good as assembled from the factory.) They do take the door panels off to put on window tint, correct?

My cover fits the same, but it pretty much has to. The issue is that with the rigid design, it would be nearly impossible to get it past the mirror when installing and uninstalling if it didn't have a larger opening. Even though it's not a tight fit around the mirror, it really does work well for reducing heat in the interior.

Mine looks the same, it doesn't seem to allow too much heat in to the car.
Take this with a grain of salt, but my tint guy said he has seen an insurance company deny a claim on an accident because of the front windshield tint (this is in CA).
