It depends . If you're replacing a sensor with a dead battery you don't (well, maybe the stem, but I've never had to replace one yet). Just remove the valve with a hex wrench/socket and transfer it to the new sensor.
But if you're buying sensors for a second set of tires, then you definitely do. And in that case you also need the rubber gaskets, the washers, and the nuts, which are sold as a 'repair kit' (along with stems) for $12 delivered on eBay in case they're not included with the new sensors. Good luck. |

As a final comment, how many miles on those sensors? If they have close to 50K, I'd buy new ones man. Again, having to remove tires to replace them is an invitation for wheel damage. Good luck. |

I bought a set of 4 sensors from tirerack along with the tires for ~194 (09 M3). This way you get exactly what you need to mount them with your new set of wheels. No need to worry about washers and stuff. I was told they were OEM sensors. I didn't look at them since I didn't install myself but they work fine with my new wheel set and the stems look the same as the ones on my other wheel set.
