Unique for sure, those discs are ridiculous!!!

However, I don't see how you need them brakes in Taiwan man. It's likely for show-only purpose. If you got the deep pocket, go ahead.

I'd pass on the ceramics. Get a 380mm Brembo GT kit or if you really want to drop the bucks, get the Brembo recing calipers. At least with the Brembos you'll have a lot more pad options.

I have no experience with ceramic rotors, so I don't know the options. as far as I know price i got was only about 5000 usd difference compared with the GTR brakes.

If I had the money I would do it... discs will probably outlast the car and rotational weight savings are huge on these.

Besides looks and unique factor are over the charts.

Go ahead and do it.

I do visit German quit a bit for business but I still have to learn it.

I actually got offered a promotional discount because I would be the first to buy these brakes so.......

I got offered : $24,000 usd front and rear.

for the brembo GTR I didn't get any super discount or what not. so I think my final price was $15,000 usd front and rear.

I asked if I could transfer the brakes on to my car and this was his reply

And yes we can transfer almost full system to the next car, 100% in the front, only need new hat and bracket.

Rear depends on the chassis, but I think bimmer will be no problem.

so I said I would think about. then he came back with a very interesting spec.

the disc from MOVIT never less a mm since Generation 2, 396x36mm on RS6 after 2 years and 25000km, still 36mm !!

so basically if I buy a new M5 and put 900HP on it I will have the brakes way longer the most of my cars.

and asia is stop and go traffic most of the time.

what a tuff choice

waste of cash -- will not outperform any other cast iron BBK with proper pads and bed-in procedures.

However, you would out-'bling' every1

these don't need heating up like the 1st generation.

I've always notice that cast ron BBK tends to vibrate quit a bit on very high speeds.
I've use the AP CP5000 series before and used Brembos before all the same issues ever with floating disc.

that is one of the main reason I was looking into ceramics.

Isn't the Ceramic rotor floating as well?

DAMN

The money that you're gonna be spending on those breaks alone are almost 1/2 as much as the 1st car that i m looking to get. LOL, i wanna be a big baller like you one day.

Back on topic

Since you're supercharged and might hit those kinds of speeds that require hard breaking, i think you should get these for the peace of mind. Even thought its a LOT of $. If you think its a great investment i'd go for it. Its all up to you

Good luck

yes, but I think its when the rotors get over heated is when the vibration happens especially on high speeds. And notice usually on high speed heavy breaking the rotors usually gets COOKED

actually these brakes only cost about 20% of the cost of the car here in Taiwan. Maybe if I was in the states the thought of picking up these would never ever cross my mind.

I've got ceramics on some of the other cars. For daily use, I wouldn't recommend it for what you want to use them for. When they are cold they are VERY jerky and even more noticable in stop-go traffic. These should be for driving on the track or very spirited and traffic-less driving. Just my 2c.

When you meant cooked, do you mean the rotors or pads?

I think that's what the AP strap drive system is suppose to help with.
