so how safe are these tunes for the engine (in the long run)? I do like the idea of not increasing the rev limiter.

Or is this something that you have to specifically ask for?
You can request whatever options you wish when you order your software. Rev limit increase is usually a request only option but top speed is a standard feature.

Engine tuning is very safe when done correctly by an experienced tuner.

For sure! Your review among a couple other things pushed me toward ESS. I hope I not regret it!

Can someone tell me the difference in HP at the crank stock vs Akra full exhaust with ESS tune? Thanks.

Well, i will answer my own question. According to ROMAN@ESS, about 25-30HP

It is probably more like 40+ at the crank.

I am not sure what the added HP came with the tune but I can say its def noticeable when you drive the car.

It's been a few months since the last post on this thread, so I thought I would chime in now that I installed my Akra Evo+ESS Tune. Awsome!!! I love driving my car more than ever and I cant wait to fire it up in the morning with the cold start feature engaged. I don't find it loud what-so-ever, but I do get a little bummed when the cold start stops. I wish the idle sound was forever the same as the first 20 seconds of the day...

And the answer is.......F@$k yeah.

I first loaded the ESS Akra tune without the exhaust installed per ESS recco, and it felt like it pulled a little harder for sure.

The next day I installed the exhaust system and I felt a very noticable difference in throttle response and torque.

The sound is perfect, not too loud, no freeway drone, nice low grumble off the start, nice loud rasp in 3rd at 6-8k, great note on the freeway when you one or two gears too high. It makes you want to drive differently and the driving experience is more pleasurable.

I can't wait to drive it today, it's been a few days as i've been down with the flu.

Carbon tipe looks bitchen too...

BTW, I installed the BMC filter and it seems to take from the exhaust experience by adding an awkward intake rasp. I will be swapping them to verify that's what it is and will report back my findings. I will tell you that the BMC was the first mod I did and I liked the added sound I got from the intake, but now I'm not so sure it compliments the exhaust system.

Also,
Thanks a bunch to Roman and the guys as ESS for everything!!!

Is this your first exhaust mod and if not what exhaust did you have prior to the Akra?

Thanks

Cheers

Yes, it is the first and hopefully last. I just removed the BMC and replaced the stock air filter. Sounds so much better now.

Just ordered the Akrapovic gt4 x pipe from iND this morning. I will be doing a video and write to compare how I like it compared to the Evo set up.

I know a lot of you love the Akra but wish it was a little louder. I am in the same boat so I thought I would give it a try with the gt4 and see how it is. I wanted to stick with Akra bc IMO they are the best and although kinda of pricey you get what you pay for so im expecting a lot out of this gt4 at its price point

Which everone I dont like I will put up for sale. Stay tuned!!
