Putting it on after the fact would cost $3000 or so, I've looked into doing this. Get it from the factory though, it's worth it.

I know you can get the center console for a little south of $600. The install at a BMW dealer is roughly $700 just for the center console, but other places can do it for less obviously. I have black and considered doing the center and even the glove compartment, but I may just have Alcantara applied to the rubberized area on the center console and add stitch lines. It will match my E-brake handle, steering wheel, and I might add some more other places to tie it all in. All of this custom work will cost waaaaay less then retrofitting the entire front end.

What are the chances that the fox red colors will match with current batches?

I have extended leather and it's worth it. Dresses up the car nicely. trying to match fox red after the fact would be hard. Black would be easier. i wish they had offered a leather dash option.
