Do Moving Violation Points transfer FL-->NY

Was wondering where I could look to find out whether or not points for moving violations would transfer if I was to get a ticket in Florida and I am licensed in New York State.

Is there a website to answer these types of questions?

Thanks in advance?

NYS DMV website:
http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/

Points:
http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm#points

What you are looking for:
"Out-of-state traffic violations: Except for Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS driver record if you commit an out-of-state traffic violation. Points can appear on your NYS driver record if you commit a traffic violation in Ontario or Quebec."

Quick word of advice on NYS insurance:

They have accident prevention courses. Maybe 6 hours on a weekend. Lowers your insurance maybe 10%.

If you are a student, they have "Good student". You get ~30-35% off. It's a lot.

PS. If/when you go to the DMV, do NOT bring up your driving record and moving violations at all. If you don't say anything about it, chances are you will enter the state with a pretty clean record. Talking about it/asking questions is just going to open a can of worms..

It's not that. We ar on vacation in South Florida and we are going to drive nroth to Orlando for the day. We both have NYS licenses and actually don't mind risking a minor speedin ticket but don't want to risk the points transferring.

What I quoted and linked Gluck to was NYS laws. They might be different as a resident of Florida. Check your local office of motor vehicles for the laws that apply to your license.

Too many cars travelling too closely together and some idiot taps their brakes. So the driver behinds them taps their brakes...and the car behind them...and the car behind them...etc.
