Rattling the parking garage

My Dinan exhaust on cold start resonates off the concrete walls of the parking garage at work, especially when I've backed into a spot, and I've noticed lately that the vibration sets off some other cars' alarms.

I know this isn't the loudest exhaust out there (that would be Gintani, Eisenmann race, etc.), but there must be something about hitting the right frequency that vibrates other cars. And I only have the mufflers, not the middle racing pipes... I thought this only happened on Harleys.

Anyone else?

My Akra rear section does it on cold start, too. Low frequencies are the trick, not volume. Pretty funny pulling out of the garage after work and setting a few off.

I have full Gintani race without cats or resonators. It can be loud as hell at times but I too have found it's not volume but certain frequencies. You might consider a tune with cold start deleted, I have it on my car and it helped a ton.

Mine does that also, people actually look across from the other side of the garage..

It religiously sets of the alarm of this Porsche Panamera.

But I disabled the cold start secondary air pump, now it's very quiet on cold start and drives much much better when cold.

My RPI GTc full exhaust is loud as hell and sets off car alarms. I also park in a structure at work and it echoes to the point it's embarrassing. Then I drive away and forget all about it. I'm known as the guy with the loud Beemer.

Akra evo has yet to do it, but past set-ups were much, much louder. First few times I thought it was funny, but then it became embarrassing... at the same time, who the hell needs an alarm that sensitive– I say it's their fault.

My full catless AA does it too. I got rid of the cold start on my AA tune, I hated the cold starts

i know a guy who has a full rpi setup on his e92 and in the gym parking lot he set off a car alarm. i find that crazy since the parking lot is outside and since he has dct the car was probably right around 1-1500 rpm.

Oh yeah, cold starts make our M3's sound like they're possessed! I love it! I purposely seek out parking garages downtown to enjoy it a little more.

I took my old exhaust off because it was too loud for some folks on my street, but it got thumbs up from enthusiasts.

I knew it was too loud when I met someone at ground level and he said that my car sounded sick, but the problem was that I was parked 5 levels below him and he could still hear me...
