Thinking about getting a tune, intake and pulley from dinan.... Any suggestions on where to go near Pittsburgh or any other reputable dealers other than dinan. Thx

Buy from Marco at McKenna Performance and install yourself. Doesn't get any cheaper than that.

I got the intake and pulley from Dinan. You are lucky as there is a sale on at Dinan this month.

I installed the intake myself, pretty simple.

Just talked to sewickley BMW - said dinan tune and intake would only net 17 hp. For cost not sure it's worth it. Does anyone have that set up on an 08 m3?

On an otherwise stock car, a tune and intake won't net a lot. You really need to do an x-pipe so see the gains a tune can provide.

It won't pass in CT, my local Dinan dealer confirmed this for me yesterday.

I was also thinking of jumping on the Dinan sale and get the intake (and add the tune later). However, I am a bit worried about the tune affecting my warranty. I track so I was thinking the additional 200 rpm would be helpful and extra airflow might be helpful at higher RPMs. I am on the fence though.

I decided against the pulleys. I am worried about the long term effects of underdriving my accessories. My car is my DD.

Agreed. The CF intake sure looks nice though. And its an easy DIY that has little risk of voiding the warranty.

17HP for around $1600 is a decent gain for a NA car.

Really? Well that sounds like a lot for a pulley in our cars.

Believe me I was super surprised when I saw the gains. I went to EAS to get them installed. We did a baseline dyno, installed the pulleys while the car was still strapped down and did a after dyno. We did 3 runs that consistently showed a peak 16-18whp gain. the gains weren't only at the top end but through out the entire power band. Tom & Steve of EAS were there along with a couple m3post members

Thinking of just adding a drop in filter now since my e90 has a coal liner that restricts more than the e92 m3s...does anyone have pros and cons on adding a afe intake vs just adding a new filter?

+1,
I didn't feel a noticeable difference between MS filter and stock.

No noticeable difference between MS filter and AA pulley. Confirmed by 1/4 mile track where I trapped no better than 110mph.

Butt dyno and 1/4 mile timeslip showed a good improvement when I switched from MS to AA green filter, AA pulley and Akrapovic Evo exhaust. Trapped 116mph and this was before the 231e software update from dealer.

I'm not trying to discount anything but personally, I think those dynos are full of shit. I've seen too many bs dyno sheets here lately. 400 whp with tune and bolt on's? Sure....... Whatever float your boat man but I would take my car to the track and confirm if it is really faster in real life or just on a roller.

I would attribute your gains more to the Akra Evo rather than the pulleys and filter, but I am sure they all work well together.

We have all the parts you are looking for and then some. I highly recommend our filter, tune and pulley combo.

Here is a Dyno from one of our customers cars. (Tune,Rear axle back exhaust, pulley, Filter)
