Recommendations on Portable Air Compressors

Looking for some good suggestions (preferably through amazon prime). I've gone through a bunch -- maybe most just aren't up to the frequent track demands. Favorite so far was probably B&D Air Station, but after about a year, seems to not hold the charge well. Tried the Goodyear i5000, but it started blowing fuses, so presumably also not going to be a long term solution. Really prefer battery/cordless, so I don't need to plug in, but I'm ready to accept maybe those just won't hold up. Any suggestions for compressors you love that have actually served you well?

a few guys on here have viair setups. i'm into offroading and they are a well known brand for offroading.

i recently bought a compressor after using a buddy's compressor for offroading. i was impressed with how well it worked for my 35" tires. i recently stepped up to 37" tires and got the upgraded version. i haven't used it yet, but it had good reviews on amazon.

also, another option if you don't want to keep messing with electrical compressors, is c02. i have used these for offroading and the way the c02 expands, it fills tires fast. for a low profile tire, it would only take about a five second press to put in a few pounds of air- and it will last a long time. this is the brand of tank i have. i haven't used it for track purposes yet.

Believe it or not, the compressor that comes with the car is very good.

Master Flow MF-1045, just bought it, great so far, like the battery option! LINK <--- I no longer recommend this kit, the battery just doesn't last!

Master Flow MF-1030, I've had one of these for 6+ years and it's still going strong. I now keep one in my car and one in my wife's car 24/7. LINK <--- Still like this one.

Thanks, will likely give this one a try. Any idea the differences between this and the 1050?

And to the rest, thanks for the suggestions, but not quite what I'm looking for (completely cordless, ~$50).

Strongly prefer cordless for the track, but I'll keep that in mind if I need a backup option in a pinch.

The 1050 is more powerful but no battery. Let me know how you like the 1045 if you get it.

You could also buy a jumpstarter with integrated compressor. As little as $59 at HF, but you can spend 3x that if you want. Bigger, heavier but battery lasts longer, can run your car for a few minutes if your alternator dies, and can jump start.

Ah, thanks, missed that. Will do, but it will be a while, first track (at this point) appears to not be until July, but I'll try to remember to revisit this thread after a full track weekend workout.

Interesting suggestion; I think I've seen a few at Costco as well, but some of those start getting a little heavy from the battery to be lugging around a lot.

VIAIR is really good. I have a portable air compressor to adjust my tire pressures at the track. My buddy has dual VIAIR compressors for his bagged setup and fills up the tank pretty fast.

This is what I have: http://www.walmart.com/ip/42279938?w...848128&veh=sem

Well, so far in my use this year, very happy with this suggestion (Master Flow MF 1045) Works great. About the only con I've seen so far is that it doesn't have the ability to set to a particular pressure and then shut off, but otherwise, very well built, pumps pretty fast, looks cool, what's not to like.

This. I use this one whenever I need to top up some tires from the previous track day after bleeding them out as the heat rises.
