How to stick "M BADGE" back on a powdercoated wheel???
Hi guys,
I just had my oem wheels powdercoated. As you may know, before powdercoating process, they take out the "m badge" from the wheels and to me it doesnt look nice without these badges. so, I just ordered OEM M Badge from Tischer and hopefully they will arrive soon. MY question is, what is the safest to stick the badges on to the wheels? Is it safe to use a strong glue(adhesive) on powdercoated wheel??? Does the oem badges already come with a glue underneath? pls share your experiences.. thanks.. |

The badges should come with adhesive already on the back of the emblem.

The badges DO have an adhesive backing! Peel the paper off and stick them on!

You'll have to use adhesive, since the powdercoating is thick enough to prevent the emblem to sit squarely on its 'hole'. I didn't want to risk losing them on the freeway. Pressing them with your fingers yielded them being stuck only in the middle, with all edges making upward pressure. You'll see what I mean if it doesn't make sense now. Every time you press them with your thumb, you can hear the adhesive 'popping' back. Not secure IMO.
Anyway, I used black RTV I had laying around, and worked perfectly. And the emblems look better now IMO, since they were too deep before. Now they sit pretty much flush. Good luck. Last edited by JCtx; 06-18-2010 at 07:21 PM.. |
