i have had a couple incidents recently as well

pulling up at a stop light near my gym a couple guys were asking how i liked my 335i and i told them its an m3. at first they said "they dont make m3's in a 4 door" and i kinda laughed and told them to feel free and follow me for a moment and tell me if my exhaust sounds like a turbo charged 6 or a v8. we got to the gym (where they were headed too) and they got out and were just drooling over the car which was "one of the sickest m3's they have ever heard or seen". i guess sound sells the car?

another scenario was a guy i work with said he liked my 328i with the m badge. i told him i liked his pretty female face.

My license plate is "8400 RPM" and someone I work with asked me "What happens at 8400 RPM?" I think I replyed something about the solar system tearing apart or eargasims or something, I can't remember exaclty what.

He followed up by commenting on how crazy he thought it was after seeing what his pick-up truck red line was, LOL!!

I had a BMW sales associate tell me how much higher rev'ing the M3 I was test driving was than what I was used to. This was after I had told her that I had an 2003 (AP1) Honda S2000.

I will eat you up. He starts revving his engine, so i throw the car in launch control mode (its about 85 degrees outside), and literally SMOKED his ass by 15 car lengths. He pulls up to the next light and wouldnt even look at me. I laughed the whole way home.

While I was driving my Honda Civic family car, my wife ran into the store while I waited in the car with the kids. I happen to have parked next to a white E92. I knew it was not an 08 because it had the new i-drive nob. the driver comes back while I am still parked waiting on my wife. I asked him, what year is your M3? he says it's an 09. I said, cool. I noticed the new i-drive nob. I added that I have an 08 myself. He asks me, "is that an E36?". I couldn't help but laugh and say, no it's exactly like your car.

20+ years ago: My solid lifter LT-1 Z28 (Isky Race cam = rough idle): "Son, there's something wrong with how your car sounds, you need to get it fixed."
