Well it varies depending on the institution in which you are getting trained at. Some charge $175 per hour, some $150, you just got to look around. Im lucky because the Aviation department at my University has our own flying club so as students we only pay $100 ( $75 for the plane and $25 for the instructor). Your also going to be spending a few bucks on your equipments I.E headset, David clark is the recommended one but expensive ($300 range), log books, files, compass etc.

As for your private pilot licence, you are looking to spend any where between 4-6k because you need between 40-60 hours of flying time. I think the overall national average is atleast 50, it all boils down to your knowledge and skills. My best advice for you is to shop around for the best $$$$

Yea, after typing it so frequently I tend to let grammar slip.

Right now im in a training squadron flying T-6's.

Its a little goofy looking but its not THAT slow. You can still black out when pulling some G's.

Flying for a dozen years. If you love it, do it - totally worth it and way better than any BMW. If you don't love it, save your $$ because it's expensive. Plan on 50 hours at $200/hour including CFI. Maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. Fly at least twice/week while learning and agree with the CFI what your next lesson will be and study it before showing up. But the cost to get the license is just the start, cause you're gonna want to keep flying. Plan on another $10k/year to fly about as much as you'd probably want.
