I have a 2002 Honda CBR 954. If you go tonight, what time? I have dinner plans, but might be able to leave early. I have never drag raced anything before...so this would be my first timed event! |

Well the track is open from 7 to 11, so we usually meet up around 5:30~5:45 at dundas & 403 timmies and head out from there. If we get there at 7, there is no waiting around to get runs in however if you get there past 8pm you will get a lot less runs in.

What time could you be at dundas & 403 b/c its only two of us so far. If you can't make it in a reasonable amount of time its no biggie, we can't just do it another time.

I'll be back! lol
Aight guys the I'll admit it, the isf beat me, as usual our fastest runs were at the beginning but as time wore on, the track became slick and out times got worse mainly due to more wheel spin during launch and 1st to 2nd shift for me at least. We got around 12 runs in and it was a good times all around cheers to FBTO Our best times where: ISF 13.20 sec @108.68mph M3 13.35 sec @106.39mph Oh yeah i forgot to add, these guys made us rent helmets because we were running 13's!! Threatened to kick us off if we ran 13's again without helmets! So next time you guys go to cayuga bring a helmet if you have one! Pure $10 cash grab to wear some dirty helmets. We were also running 13's last few times at cayuga and nobody said anything. Last edited by 2000gsr; 07-11-2009 at 12:37 PM.. Reason: forgot to add something |

Times and trap speeds seem much slower than tested one's I guess for both cars, the altitude must be playing a factor?
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...fications.html All of the M3 tested times have been 12.6 - 12.8@ 111 - 114 mph in the track tests. Seems like the trap speed is much lower as well. In a straight line, M3 has proven to be a driver's race with IS-F in comparisons. I think you have a 6 speed right? That definitely requires driving skills as opposed to an automatic box that will consistently run the same everytime due to the press-and-go nature. An M-DCT using launch control would be much of a fair match with an automatic box. I know what you are talking about 1st to 2nd shift spin because they are very close ratio spacing and steep final drive. I have seen that happening at the local dragstrip (Race city motorsports). Looks like you need different set of tires that can grip better and you should be able to take him down. Quote:

An M-DCT will be a much more of a fair comparison given its 3.4:1 final drive (much closer to the tall 2.9:1 final drive in IS-F) and 7 speed press-and-go auto shifting is a better match. |
