HID Angel Eyes - Dangerous?

Hey all, hope you're all doing good!

Very frequent reader of this forum but just joined today.

I've just had HID Angel Eyes fitted today in my E92 M3. After running them for about half an hour, I opened up the bonnet and felt the caps on the light housings and they were immensely hot (despite the heat sinks being mounted outside the housings).

I didnt fit these myself since I'm useless at electrics but I'm worried that this isn't safe? I bought and had them fitted by a BMW specialist tuning shop nearby who claim they are okay, but I don't know who the manufacturer of the kit is. Nevertheless the top of the housing gets ridiculously hot so I shudder to think how hot it must be inside the housing!

Apologies - I've read thread after thread of reviews about Alpine kits, OSS, AngeliBright etc, but haven't yet heard many horror stories about the long term effects of HID angel eye kits.

From any of you who use these or used to use these, are they safe??

Some people have said that Alpine HID Angel Eye's will cause the rings to turn yellow over time due to the intense heat.

However, I'm not sure how much truth there is to that since I don't see how much hotter they could get than the OEM Bulb that was in there from the factory since they both run at 35w.

I have LUX Angel Eyes myself and am happy with them.

Also if they are near the engine
They absorb a lot of what from the engine as well as they heat they generate
See if it's possible to put them somewhere away from the engine
Ideally in an area that has some air flow

Thank you guys.

The heat sinks are fairly near the fans so I imagine airflow while the car is moving helps to cool, but I'm not convinced of the airflow cooling the headlamp itself much. Then again, surely there are other parts of the engine that get hotter than a HiD bulb?

Nevertheless I have looked into the lux H8 V3 and am shocked at its simple installation. Kind of wish I tried this first.

What's the best Lux kit? Ive done some reading but can't really identify the difference between the V3 and the 5.1, aside from the power supply but then based on user experience, which one is working out best for you all, and, any bad reviews?
