valentine 1

Is there a specific package that people order?

There are so many options. I don't know what I need.

Any recommendations?

i believe theres the rear view mirror option, where the radar display is installed on the mirror itself!

I got the basic kit. It was $399 and came with : windshield mount; visor mount; lighter adapter; power cord, coiled (2 ft. stretches to 8 ft.); power cord, straight (8 ft.); direct-wire power adapter; wiring-harness connector; owner's manual; spare suction cups; spare fuse. 30-day Money-Back Guarantee.

I had it hardwired today by Sonic MS. There are DIY posts, but I didn't want to mess with it as I tend to screw things up so left it with the pros...besides I have an E93

I saw a thread where alekshop does this. Here's the breakdown from their site

What is needed for Valentine 1 System installation:

Valentine 1 Radar Detector
Valentine 1 Concealed Display
Valentine 1 Audio Adapter
Customer provides mirror, headrest or any other required parts

Cool. About to take the plunge. I researched some on eBay for used units. Typically they seem to run from $200 to $300. For $399, new, and warranty, I think I will just order the latest one.

I will likely get the concealed display module.

Kind of toss up on this Savvy thing, any experienced users have some tips on whether this is a useful feature? The way the unit is engineered, I kind of figure Mike Valentine would not offer it if it did not make sense.

If you're looking to buy one, call them. Ask for a returned(restocked) item at 10% off, the version is most current. They will do a quick search and tell you they don't have one currently. Ask them to be on the list. They will get your information and the item will ship out a few days later. YMMV but people on the radar forum said they look new when it comes. I discovered the forum after I purchased. However, I may get a second unit this way. GL!

I feel like it's kinda like the Canon loyalty/trade-in program. Supposedly, they ship out refurbished/returned items. Some say, it's brand new. Picked up the Rebel T2i using this program. Great camera.
