How to disassemble side gills?

Hi. Have looked everywhere but can't find info on how to disassemble the side gills. I have them off the car, the outer cap just unsnaps, but the plastic cover that's attached to the chrome piece with two "teeth"/clips I can't get them off. Anyone have tips? I'm trying to switch the for painted gills but need to reuse those two pieces of plastic but can't get them unclipped. Thanks!

Just takes time and prying to be honest.
