Not sure why this old thread is back open but since it is I'll give you some advice. I didn't like the looks of the painted so I went with clear. The problem I had with the clear was moisture would build up in them making the car look cheap. Eventually they end up fading and turn a yellowish color. I replaced them with another set of clears thinking I was getting a different brand but they ended up being the same manufacture (depo) and the moisture problem was the same as the first set. I now have the painted ones.

Unfortunately the yellowing problem is something I hear from everyone who has gone this route. The only really viable options are: a.) painted; b. ugly orange (preferable to cheap tobacco stained yellow though); c.) filling/painting (or specialty bumper).
