Would 295/30/18 AD08 clear (no rubbing anywhere) with a 10.5 low offset?

The square set up you mentioned is a great set up.
Correct, 285/30/18 is shorter than ideal, and can prove to be better or worse in it's gearing change. For someone doing a regular HPDE, it may have no consequences beside a slight change in shift points, and that would depend entirely on the track as to whether it's a positive or negative change. At the 25 hours of Thunderhill there was an E9X M3 with 285/30/18 square on 10's for example.

So if all you can get is a 285/30/18 in the compound you want, then don't let it stop you, unless the front tire size you're going to run is unusually taller, such as a 275/35/18 up front paired with that size rear. Then you'd have a reverse rake, for a car that normally has a noticeably taller rear.

For track use, the tradeoff is between performance and cost effectiveness. A square setup will cost less as you will be able to rotate front/rear. However, a square setup will increase oversteer.

I did 265/35/18, 295/30/18 with my TE37's for the track. Had this setup with both the PS Cups and AD08's and always worked out great for me.

We've had several of our customers do the 18x9.5" ET22 and 18x10.5" ET27 with Hankook RS-3 in 265/35/18 and 285/35/18 when they chose to stay staggered, and they seem to be very content with that. There are also many that go with the 18x10" ET25 squared with 275/35/18 tires as well.

From the grave.....

Anyone run 295/30/18 square? I heard a couple say it was possible, but have yet to hear someone actually running it on track.

If anyone on here is, what is your set up?

FYI, I tried this up front on my car on 18x10et25 and 18x10.5 et27

Both rubbed, the 10 barely, but the tire was sketchy as far as fitment. Hoosier A6 test tires

Where are you guys finding tires for a 265/35/18- 285/35/18?

I'm having more trouble finding options for 275/35/18 in the front

Tire rack has about 2-3 choices and most aren't at least in the Max Summer category

For track tires I pay less attention to the listed width and look at the tread width. For example, the 285/35/18 RS4's have a tread width of 10.6 which is only .1 wider than a 275/35/18 NT01, Toyo R888R or Maxxis RC1. You will be hard pressed to find many 18" 35 series tires wider than ~10.5 inches. The new Yokohama A052's come in a 295/35/18 which is 11.2 inches wide but not much else until you go to 40TW tires like the BFG R1(S).

I'm running 295/30/18 AR1's square on 10" wide wheels. I have Ohlins coils and required a 5mm spacer in the front.
