Le Mans Blue please.... I don't want to risk running into any more SG/FR cars like mine than I have to.

I get a ton of compliments on the SG though, so it's a great color, looks sick w/ the OEM 18's too.

I'd go for both the interior and exterior I loved, but in the conundrum you are in I'd choose my fave interior, you're probably going to spend more time in the car than looking at it from the outside.

I was thinking of going with the 18s if I went gray and 19s with blue. Any one else think the 18s will look better on the gray because of the finish? And I live in the northern Chicago burbs and haven't seen another m3 on the road other than my fathers white e92 (61 and he still has to have the power)

The 18's are more grayish color, so it makes sense on why you would think the 18's would suit Space Gray.........But I have 18's with IB, and it looks simply amazing to me.

+1.

I actually like SpG: looks both menacing and sophisticated, IMO. SpG / FR was my 2nd preference. The neg for me on the colour is that it's not a unique ///M colour.

I have a colleague who has SpG + 18s and they look great together Also agree that if you go LB then 19s.

Another thing to consider is, as you live in Chi-town, in winter the 18s won't looks as grubby.

I have winter wheels and tires from my 06 m coupe (18s) so that is not an issue. But with our roads 18s will ride better even in the summer.

i have the lemans blue sedan. hands down it was superior to space grey. the grey did not turn heads while the lemans blue makes peoples mouth open . i got lucky

If you want to be in sleeper mode than space gray is the way to go.I think the blue is hot, just a little too much look at me. When ordering my car I was close to ordering lemans but to me it screams midlife crisis. So if I was in my 20s.lemans for sure,I'M in my 40s so SG with fox is perfect for me.

Space Gray is soooooooooooooo booooooooooring but if you like that, then go for it.

I was sitting with a friend eating ice cream downtown and some kids stopped and checked out an average looking dark blue-green Miata and completely missed the E92 M3 in SG next to it... I laughed as they walked by completely ignoring the M3. This was when it first came out, too...

(1) under the radar can be a plus IMO

(2) I think it's more about the body than the colour: to the uninitiated unless they notice the 4 'pipes and/or actually know what ///M means (and heaps don't!) the M3 can easily be passed by as just another 3er.

And maybe it is an age thing: all the guys in the my office really love the look of an E92 + Space that my colleague ordered, and they are in the 35 - late 40s age group, including the owner (and me for that matter, and it was my 2nd choice).

Yup, can be a plus.

While both are important, the color is huge; it might even matter more than the body. Anything painted something special is going to get a lot of looks. Whether a car can back up it's attention-grabbing factor is another story. I.E., a LSB minivan.

Actually, we have a very bright blue metallic 'van (aka dogmobile, 4 dogs + Bimmers don't go)

I see you're doing ED next mth: sehr kühl. It's a blast!

Well I am 29 (will be 30 when I finally order it), 6 month old son, so where do I fall that is where I am torn, go with a interior I love but a more boring but stealthy exterior (combo looks great but won't really get noticed) or do I go with the more youthfull blue with a simple interior color.

You'll see the special interior - esp. in Ext. - a lot more than the exterior. Makes it special, and why I chose FR Ext.

And you're a Dad - so unless a single one - you won't be out there trying to pull in the women w/ a flashy colour

If you're gonna have a hard time keeping it clean, get the Gray. The blues show almost every speck of dust (especially pollen), and are probably the 3rd-4th hardest colors out of them all to keep clean behind Jet and Jerez.

I used to have IB in the M Coupe and it wasn't too bad, a ton better than the black car I had before that. But with Chicago winters (and I will be driving it in the winter ) maybe a color like gray is best (guy I work with just bought a white E92 M3 so I can't get white)

I personally think the SG looks better in pictures than in person, while LB looks incredible in person and isn't justified in pictures. People talk about how IB changes colors...I think LB does it just as much, if not more. Very striking.

If you do go with LB, take another poster's advice and get 19s. Seriously amazing looking - that is unless you're gonna put after market wheels on it. Check out the LB color thread...so nice.

And that SG on the track someone posted earlier isn't what yours will look like. That one was VF Engineering's or something and had a matte finish done to it. Now, if you do that...amazing. Just sickening.
