So your M3 is a 6spd? Have you converted to DCTs now?

The F430's box is quite a bit better than the E46's SMG, however (as i'm sure you know) the M3 and 458's DCT are on a completely different level.
Yep its a 6 speed and i love it. But for my next car, will get dct. Hoping to keep the e90m though at the same time since i will still need a manual car (cant not have one in the garage). But dct is fun on a track and have a newfound appreciation for it.

Did they let you drive it in Race or CT/CST off?

I really like my DCT E90. Great when you want to be lazy with an automatic and fun on track.

Garage List
I went 2 weeks ago and drove the F430... had a blast as well! It's definitely a "bucket list" kind of thing, and it pretty much eliminates any desire I have of owning an exotic as I just can't imagine enjoying it that much on the road.

nice video.
Open wheel racing school will tell you from the radio while they watch the live feed with telemetry. It gets little overwhelmed sometimes.

I am still trying to get use to the DCT. It doesn't feel as natural to me as 6 speed and i find myself fumbling over getting the right gear by feel. On the track I have been driving in auto mode. I need to figure this crap out. I do love the DCT on straights since its quick as hell, but the paddles still feel foreign to me.

Phil,

Looks like you had great time. I wanna try that the next time im in Vegas.

What are you struggling with?

Right paddle: Upshift, Left paddle: Downshift. Upshift at redline or when you want to short shift

Yes

Have you played on game systems (playstation/nintendo/xbox/etc...)? As pkim said, it's very intuitive for the post-ataris generation. I have to say, I really like driving paddleshift racecars.

Track wise...DCT for sure...allows you to concentrate on driving lines and cornering...especially considering I can't heal toe worth sh*t....

Super Nintendo had R1 and L1, but then again there was not any racing games to use them like Playstation's controls, but atleast you're not talking about Pong here...

I guess on the street just play around with the paddles, I think they are more fun and convenient than the center console stick. Unfortunately i'm not in SoCal very much but I can hook you up with some good instructors out there.
