Think trying to keep track of this is a good idea (model year, whether s/c, tuned, etc), but ask any consumer products company and the people that are likely to post online about a product are more likely to be complaints. Also those who have significant product issues are more likely to go online to complain.

Yes, because people join car foruns so they can go to the photos/media/gallery, DIY, Track/Autocross, Wheels, Cosmetic/Visual, engine etc. sections to complain.

Point being that if you have an issue, you are highly likely to go online and complain, ie blown engines may be over-represented online vs offline. Ask any consumer products company, it's the same story across industries.

2011 E92, DCT, oil change every 4 track days "track once a mos", no tune and running NA. Catastrophic rod bearing failure 32,000 miles.

2013 E92, DCT, oil change every 3 track days instead of 4, track once a month w/ 5250 miles, no tune and running NA. No issues and humming like a hummingbird.

People who are meticulous, who want to make sure their cars are properly maintained are also more likely to go online.
